Job Scope

The Senior Manager, xMAP Portfolio (Licensed Technologies Group) will be responsible for product management activities associated with the entire ecosystem of Luminex's Microsphere (MicroPlex and MagPlex), chemistry, assay, and consumables portfolio. In this role, the candidate will enhance the value of existing Microsphere applications in addition to uncovering novel applications. This individual will also collaborate with a team of cross-matrixed product managers responsible for instruments, software, and cloud products to develop and execute strategies supporting our corporate initiatives. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and exhibit a desire to succeed in a highly collaborative environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Provide vision and lifecycle strategies for Microspheres (MicroPlex and MagPlex), chemistry, assay, and consumables portfolio and serve as a subject matter expert on current application and new applications of the technology.Manage development of new products, management of in-line product lifecycle, and discontinuation of products. Initiate development of product concepts from Innovation & Advanced Technology Groups as needed.Act as the voice of the customer (VOC) for xMAP portfolio in all aspects of product development, providing strategic guidance to design and development teams.Develop Customer Requirements, Business Cases and associated documentation to support the Design Control process for New Product introduction.Develop and own product launch plans, including elements such as defining launch goals, forecasts, launch strategy, customer segmentation, product messaging and positioning, training, and supporting content needed for a successful launch.Act as the primary point of contact for product-specific requests related to xMAP reagents and consumables.Analyze, monitor, and report regularly on the financial performance of the product portfolio.Work with appropriate cross-functional teams to ensure product performance issues are tracked and resolved, and appropriate documentation is provided both internally and externally.Other duties as assigned by management.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a biological or life science program required.Master's Degree (MBA preferred).8+ Years of experience in life sciences, medical devices, healthcare laboratory, or related industries required.8+ Years of experience in product management, marketing, sales, or technical support in life science research required.5+ Years of experience managing products across the entire portfolio lifecycle required.2+ Years of experience developing customer and product requirements for development teams required.2+ Years of experience working within a quality-systems environment and product development under design control preferred.2+ Years of technical understanding and hands-on experience with xMAP-based reagents and consumables preferred.2+ Years of overall competency in analyzing market data, trends and competitive environment, and preparing/presenting related reports preferred.2+ Years of demonstrated track record of success in translating a concept or new product to a successful marketing and sales campaign preferred.2+ Years of being a self-starter, enthusiastic and strategic thinker with a bias for action required.2+ Years of strong interpersonal and communication skills for building both internal and external relationships required.2+ Years of self-confidence and strong work ethic preferred.2+ Years of strong computer skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and (High proficiency) required.
