Senior Digital Risk Advisory and Cyber-Security Associate Attorney

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in privacy and data protection compliance, including proactive and reactive measures, and experience in managing data security incidents and related regulatory investigations. This role demands a candidate with exceptional project management skills, a deep understanding of privacy and security laws, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert legal advice on privacy and security obligations under state, federal, and international laws.Manage and respond to data security incidents, including coordinating breach notifications and handling regulatory investigations.Develop and implement strategies for compliance with contractual and legal obligations related to data security.Advise clients on the implications of privacy and security breaches, offering legal and technical perspectives.Lead and coordinate breach response teams, including legal, technical, and forensic professionals.Draft, review, and negotiate data privacy and security contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Represent clients in regulatory investigations related to privacy and data security, defending their interests before relevant authorities.Stay up-to-date with evolving data privacy and security laws, providing proactive advice on compliance strategies.Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.Conduct training sessions and workshops on data privacy and security best practices for clients and internal teams.Requirements:

A minimum of 7+ years of experience in privacy and cybersecurity law, focusing on breach response and regulatory investigations.Proven experience advising on privacy and security obligations, state and federal data security incident notification requirements, and defending regulatory investigations.Law firm or in-house experience in privacy and cybersecurity breach response or litigation experience with a demonstrated interest in privacy and cybersecurity work.Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage complex workloads and prioritize tasks effectively.Strong awareness of data privacy and security laws, both domestically and internationally.Excellent writing and oral communication skills, with the ability to persuade and influence stakeholders at all levels.Strong motivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigations, with the ability to distill complex technical issues for non-technical audiences.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high attention to detail while anticipating issues.Professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in a collaborative team environment.Education and Certifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
