Job Summary
The Clinical Laboratory at Zuckerberg San Francisco General provides laboratory testing services for inpatients and outpatients of ZSFG, Laguna Honda Hospital, District Health Centers and other facilities under the auspices of the SF Public Health Department. Under the direction of the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager, employee performs all technical laboratory aspects of Point of Care Testing. This position performs Point of Care Testing procedures, computer functions, quality control, preventative maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
This position performs all duties in a manner that denotes the team concept and reflects the UCSF Code of Conduct and ZSFG mission, vision and values. Department Description
The UCSF Clinical Laboratory (CL) at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG) provides laboratory testing services for inpatients and outpatients of ZSFG, Laguna Honda Hospital, District Health Centers and other facilities under the auspices of the San Francisco Public Health Department.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from college with a Bachelor's Degree in biochemistry or an appropriate scientific field and minimum of two years CLS experience in Point of Care (POC)Testing and Quality Assurance (QA) or Quality Management (QM) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Considerable knowledge of chemistry, immunology and/or hematology instrumentation.Able to work independently, under pressure; recognize and resolve problems while maintaining a high level of organizationPC skills and experience with a laboratory computer systemProof of vaccination and booster for Covid-19
Preferred Qualifications
Effective verbal and written communication skills relative to clinical results.Experience with RALS middleware and Sunquest laboratory information systems.
License/Certification
Possession of a California Clinical Laboratory License or a similar license of equal or higher level issued by the State Department of Health.
