Working as the Director of Dining Services you will be responsible for all culinary and retail operations and leadership of one or more of our campus dining locations, creating excitement by overseeing operations, in accordance with corporate programs and guidelines. This position will be responsible to drive guest satisfaction and engagement! The selected applicant for the position must have a current Certified Food Handler’s Identification Card issued by the DC Department of Health, & Serv Safe Certification.Key Responsibilities:Works in cooperation with The George Washington University campus community to enhance campus partnerships and to support sustainability awareness, programming for nutritional and dietary awareness, residential life, etc.Coordinates and executes programming and events, and lead a diverse committee of university and Chartwells participantsAnalyzes customer research, current market conditions and competitor informationManages the productivity of the culinary and front of house teamsEnsures customer satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient uses of resourcesDirects staff to provide scheduled dining services in accordance with corporate policies and presentation standardsImplements and maintains cash handling standards as outlined in the Corporate Policies and Procedures Manual to eliminate theft of services or Company fundsOversees P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the area of responsibilityMaintains excellent relationships with clients, students, and the campus communityWorks with the culinary and management teams on campus to create nutritious and top-quality food for the students and campus communityImplements new culinary programs in conjunction with the Chartwells marketing and culinary teamsMonitors industry best practices and trendsPreferred Qualifications:A.S. or equivalent experienceMUST HAVE a current Certified Food Handler’s Identification Card issued by the DC Department of HealthThree to five years of progressive management experienceComprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentationExperienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail and the InternetHigh volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirableServSafe certified is highly desirableApply to Chartwells Higher Education today!Chartwells Higher Education is a member of Compass Group USACompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
