Medical Center Development

(MCD), in partnership with the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, supports Stanford Medicine. MCD’s passionate and experienced fundraising professionals and partner teams work closely to create a donor-centric approach to development. Program Manager

supports the efforts of fundraisers on the team as well as overall Stanford Medicine priorities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative and supportive team. Candidates who thrive in a fast-paced and engaging environment will enjoy the way the role challenges them.Your primary responsibilities include:Writing and Designing Materials (40%):Writing program and faculty research overviews, campaign support materials, donor proposals, crafting gift opportunities, preparing briefing materials, creating compelling acknowledgment and stewardship letters and other communication for donors, faculty, or volunteers. This work will be consistent with the developed strategy and MCD guidelines.Conceptualizing, developing, and designing written program materials for donor and volunteer engagement using graphic design skills.Coordinating with faculty and internal partner teams, including Communications and Donor Relations teams, on material development. Preparing slide decks and other presentation materials.Administrative and Portfolio Management – (30%):Planning and scheduling complex calendars and resolving calendar conflicts with limited or no consultation.Preparing agendas, taking meeting minutes, booking conference rooms, providing AV setup, and tracking on post-meeting follow up as needed.Supporting fundraisers in the coordination of volunteer meetings including scheduling, booking meeting space and parking, preparing the meeting room, catering arrangements, and taking notes.Retrieving, reviewing, and updating information about prospects, donors, and gifts.Tracking, writing, and mailing out donor acknowledgement letters from faculty members.Reporting and Data Analytics (20%):Utilizing reporting and MCD databases to conduct data analysis projects, with the aim of sourcing major gift level prospects for aligned gift officer’s portfolios and/or campaign readiness.Managing grateful patient data and reporting and pulling grateful patient lists and conducting data analysis to identify major rated prospects.Acting as a liaison between partner teams, including the reporting and research teams, to coordinate projects, requests and deliverables for the aligned gift officers.Events (10%):Supporting fundraisers in the planning, implementation, and coordination of events at various levels. Could include reviewing/tracking lists of attendees, coordination of event planning meetings, taking notes, scheduling meetings with faculty members, catering arrangements, restaurant reservations, and on-site support such as equipment set up and table arrangements.To be successful in this position, you will bring:Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Three years of project management or program management experience desired.Exceptional writing skills, research and editorial competencies; ability to synthesize complex information and compose clear and compelling prose.Experience managing and coordinating complex calendars and projects that have multiple components and competing deadlines; set priorities and schedules and meet deadlines with a minimum of supervision.Excellent technical skills: expertise in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, web resources, and donor management databases; experience using Stanford’s information systems such as PostGrads and CARD is a plus but not required.Experience using graphic design software such as inDesign, Canva, and/or Adobe Illustrator is strongly preferred.Positive, can-do attitude and dedicated work ethic.Superior organizational skills; a work style that is thorough, accurate and detail-oriented. Strong attention to details and the ability to quickly understand and remember details about donors and projects.Excellent verbal communication skills. Strong customer-service focus; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven ability to work patiently, persuasively and effectively with a wide variety of people, including students, faculty, staff, donors and alumni.Demonstrated sound judgment in situations requiring independent decision-making and in handling confidential and sensitive material.An understanding of the development and alumni enterprise—particularly within an academic setting—is desirable, but not required.Certifications and Licenses:Valid California Non-commercial Class Driver's License.The expected pay range for this position is $69,100 to $120,000 per annum.Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
