is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Technical Project Manager to lead the automation of the ticketing workflow process for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project management,
must have specific expertise in workflow automation using Microsoft PowerApps
and
Power BI.
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills who can manage complex projects in a government environment, ensuring that automation initiatives are delivered on time and within scope.
Key Responsibilities:Project Leadership:
Lead the end-to-end management of the project to automate the VA's ticketing workflow process, from initial planning and requirements gathering to execution and delivery.Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring that all milestones are met within the agreed-upon timeline.Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and third-party vendors, to ensure successful project implementation.
Workflow Automation:
Leverage Microsoft PowerApps and Power BI to design, develop, and implement automated workflows that streamline the VA’s ticketing processes.Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, identify bottlenecks, and develop solutions that enhance efficiency and improve service delivery.Ensure that the automation solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with the VA’s operational goals and standards.
Stakeholder Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.Facilitate meetings, presentations, and discussions to ensure alignment between project goals and stakeholder expectations.Prepare detailed project reports and documentation for senior management and other key stakeholders.
Risk Management and Problem Resolution:
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the project remains on track.Resolve any issues that arise during the project lifecycle, making adjustments as necessary to meet project objectives.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest quality standards and comply with relevant regulations and best practices.Conduct regular project reviews and audits to ensure compliance with VA policies and procedures.
Training and Support:
Develop and deliver training programs for end-users and support staff to ensure the smooth adoption of the new automated workflows.Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to ensure the continued success of the automation solutions post-implementation.
Qualifications and Experience:Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a professional technical IT Project Manager.At least 3 years of hands-on experience in workflow automation using Microsoft PowerApps and Power BI.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.Certifications:
PMP certification is highly desirable.Technical Skills:
Strong expertise in Microsoft PowerApps and Power BI for developing and automating workflows.In-depth knowledge of IT project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) processes, particularly in ticketing systems.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex project challenges.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
