A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Energy Attorney with 1-4 years of law firm or federal agency experience. This position suits candidates interested in energy regulatory, nuclear, and related transactional matters. The successful candidate will possess superior analytical, written, and verbal skills and a solid academic record. This role requires a high level of problem-solving ability and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively to deliver exceptional service to clients. The position is based in Washington, DC.Key Responsibilities:Provide legal counsel on energy regulatory, nuclear, and related transactional matters.Conduct thorough research and analysis of energy laws, regulations, and policies.Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings.Represent clients in proceedings before federal and state regulatory agencies, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).Advise clients on compliance with federal and state energy regulations, including those related to nuclear energy.Assist in the development and implementation of regulatory strategies for clients.Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to deliver high-quality legal services to clients.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of energy law trends, regulatory developments, and industry practices.Support business development by contributing to client pitches, proposals, and other marketing activities.Work independently and as a team to meet client needs and deadlines.Requirements:1-4 years of law firm or federal agency experience, focusing on energy regulatory, nuclear, and related transactional matters.Demonstrated interest in energy law, particularly in regulatory and nuclear sectors.Superior analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.Strong academic record from an accredited law school.Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.Commitment to delivering exceptional client service.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Active bar membership in good standing in the District of Columbia or obtaining membership.Certifications:Admission to the District of Columbia Bar, or eligibility to waive into the D.C. Bar.Skills:Deep understanding of energy law and regulatory processes.Experience with nuclear regulatory matters is strongly preferred.Proficiency in legal research tools and software.Strong negotiation and drafting skills.Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and policies.High level of professionalism and ethical standards.Capacity to work independently and within a team environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).Job Location:Washington, DC
