Online EducationPosition Summary:Required State candidate residence: Georgia, Kentucky, Washington (state), and Tennessee.This position is responsible for teaching courses in Health Informatics as well as planning, advising students, scholarly work, and working with the program director for the Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) program. The faculty will teach 6-8 classes per year, monitor student progress, serve as student advisor, develop relationships with industry partners to increase opportunities for students, present scholarly work, and work with the program director and other staff for curriculum development and other committees as outlined.Minimum Qualifications:Terminal degree in Healthcare, Education, or a related field (i.e., Health Related Professions, Adult Education).Minimum three years of teaching experience, including one year of experience in graduate course management.AHIMA credential and/or certification required. RHIA or RHIT, or CHDA preferred.Experience in teaching online courses is required.Past experience working in Health Informatics, Health Information Management, or Health Information Technology is required.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with STEM pipeline and graduate education grant writing is highly preferred.Experience working with programmatic accreditation is a plus.Morehouse School of Medicine is an equal opportunity/equal access/affirmative action employer fully committed to achieving a diverse workforce and complies with all Federal and Georgia State laws, regulations, and executive orders regarding non-discrimination and affirmative action.Job Duties:Develop independent, yet collaborative, research projects in Health Informatics and Information Management.Contribute to the formation, enforcement, and tracking of policies that impact student outcomes and learning.Assist in the development of course content and other curricular materials used for instruction.Work collaboratively with the Program Director and Program Manager as well as internal/external stakeholders to support administrative and/or accreditation requirements.Assess plans, outcomes, and learning objectives to provide the best and most relevant education to students.Work effectively and collaboratively with individuals/stakeholders to maintain and further develop Online MSHI program(s) and related combined degrees at MSM.Participate in administrative activities of Assessment & Operations.Expectations for Instructional Faculty for Online Courses:Manage the online course.Teach and facilitate the courses.Assess student learning.Research and partnership building.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Past experience working in Health Informatics, Health Information Management, or Health Information Technology is required.Experience working with programmatic accreditation is a plus.Knowledge of principles and practices of graduate course development, planning, and evaluation.Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Skill in managing a variety of tasks simultaneously with competing deadlines with minimum supervision.Pre-Employment/Employment Requirements
