Each day U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) oversees the massive flow of people, capital, and products that enter and depart the United States via air, land, sea, and cyberspace. ManTech, as a trusted mission partner of CBP, is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our team on our venture to help secure the Nation’s borders.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Design and implement Micro Service Architecture JEE software applications.Use modern software engineering tools including Eclipse, Rational Application Developer (RAD), and Atlassian Suites for design, development, and testing the software.Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government’s system lifecycle methodology.Required Qualifications:A high school diploma and 20+ years of technical experience, an associate degree in computer science or related engineering field and 18+ years of technical experience, a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering field with 12+ years of technical experience, a Master’s degree in computer science or related engineering field and 9+ years of technical experience, or a Ph.D. in computer science or related engineering field with 7+ years experience is required.Demonstrated expertise in Java and Object-Oriented Design and development principles (e.g., XML, JSON).Recent hands-on Experience with Java 17 and the newer language features.Extensive hands-on experience using Spring boot 3.x to develop Micro Services and/or REST API.Hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and/or PL/SQL used in development of web applications.Experience delivering solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS EC2, RDS, S3).Hands-on experience developing and delivering applications via Micro Services and/or REST API.Experience with one or more build tools such as Maven, Gradle, etc.Experience developing and sustaining applications within software Source Code Control Systems (SCCS) such as Git, Subversion, BitBucket, etc.Hands-on experience with Agile Lifecycle Management and engineering tools including Atlassian Jira and Confluence.Experience with application IDE tools including Eclipse, Jupyter Notebook, and Apache Zeppelin.Familiarity with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.High level of self-motivation, desire to deliver stellar solutions and willingness to work in a distributed team environment.Ability to lead and mentor junior to mid-level developers.Desired Qualifications:Experience delivering solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS EC2, RDS, S3, VPC).Experience with architecting, designing and/or developing a biometric search system.Developing 100% automating unit tests using SOAP-UI, Selenium, or equivalent tools.Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools (Git and Gradle/Maven).Experience working with Jenkins and/or Bamboo.Agile Scrum and possibly experience with leading a Scrum team as a scrum master or equivalent.Experience using DynamoDB, HBase, MongoDB, Cassandra.Experience using JQuery, AngularJS, NodeJS.Clearance:Must be a U.S.Citizen and be willing and able to obtain a Public Trust.Physical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
