Systems Data Modeler

with MTSI you will design and curate data representation models, standards, and architectures in concert with data scientists, system engineers, and database engineers to enable a wide range of data query and analysis, data acquisition, data translation, and archive recovery activities. This position will be in or near Annapolis Junction, Maryland. Your essential job functions will include but will not be limited to: Design, maintain, and oversee the governance of data models. Conduct data modeling enabling activities. Collaborate with data source experts to address questions on data structure, mission requirements, and compliance. Analyze, identify, and translate data and metadata requirements to enable consistent querying and information retrieval. Design, implement, and support data warehousing requirements. Research, document, and maintain process workflows, data flows, data maps, and systems interrelationship diagrams. Facilitate decision-making meetings and analytic exchanges. Anticipate long-range requirements for database administration and design. Maintain database knowledge models and dictionaries. Monitor data standards and input procedures. Champion data-centric solutions and communicate the return-on-investment of data models. Support innovation and digital transformation initiatives across MTSI. Qualifications 8+ years work experience in

systems engineering

and/or

software engineering

in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Within the 8 years of work experience:

2+ years must be as a Data Modeler or Data Architect. 2+ years must be in the cybersecurity and/or information assurance field.

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Systems, or Computer Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 5+ years of additional Data Modeler or Data Architect experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Additionally, a Master's degree may be substituted for 2+ years of overall experience, thereby reducing the total years of experience in systems and/or software engineering to 6+ years. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and teaming abilities. Qualifications Desired: Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Self-starter, able to take initiative and accomplish work independently with minimal guidance. Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint. Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of related experience including 7+ years' of process improvement work. Bachelor's degree in an applicable field with 8+ years of related experience. Master's degree may be substituted for 2+ years of overall experience, thereby reducing the total years of experience in systems and/or software engineering to 6+ years. Certifications Requirements: N/A Clearance Requirements: TS/SCI clearance and CI Polygraph with eligibility for Full Scope Polygraph. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
