Strategic Business Planning and Policy Advisor (SA2)

at SPU, you will play a pivotal role in influencing key aspects of our business planning and strategy. This position will be instrumental in staffing and managing the Customer Review Panel, including overseeing member onboarding and recruitment processes, facilitating Executive Policy Board discussions, and guiding the development of impactful policies. Your work will directly contribute to the update and implementation of SPU's Strategic Business Plan, ensuring that our efforts align with critical customer stakeholder research and evaluation.In this role, you will be a key policy advisor to the Corporate Policy and Planning Director in the General Manager/CEO’s Office. You will lead strategic business planning efforts, focusing on organizational and community engagement, outreach initiatives, and stakeholder collaboration. This includes developing, facilitating, and presenting complex plans, analyses, and policy proposals on emerging business initiatives. By leveraging your ability to engage with a diverse array of subject matter experts both inside and outside of SPU, you will drive innovative solutions that support SPU’s strategic goals and community priorities around affordability, sustainability, and equity.

Education:Bachelor's degree in policy, public affairs, public administration, business management, environmental studies, or related field.OREducation/Experience Equivalency: 2 additional years of related work experience.ANDExperience:

At least five (5) years progressively responsible experience in a community-based organization, non-profit, government, or utility setting. Combinations of appropriate education, training, certification, and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements.This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Starting November 4, 2024, City employees will have the option to work remotely two days a week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.
