United Pacific Surgery Center, in Tarzana, California, is a Medicare Certified and Joint Commission Accredited multi-specialty surgery center consisting of 3 operating rooms and one procedure room performing Orthopedic, General, Breast, Gynecological, Podiatric, GI, ENT and Urology procedures. We are looking to add awesome and well-qualified additions to our team of dedicated, hard-working and results-driven individuals, to make this center the first choice for ambulatory surgery in the San Fernando Valley.
We are looking for process-oriented and driven candidates to maintain a superior Culture of Safety while living our mission of treating each and every patient as they are a member of our own families. Additionally, candidates will be focused on excellent customer service, have the ability to multi-task, show flexibility in assignments, maintain scrupulous infection control standards, maintain professional competencies, and work as part of an interdependent multidisciplinary team. Willingness to be involved in various committees and ancillary functions throughout the facility on an as-needed basis. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Required Skills
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current California Nursing License
Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
Ability to care for patients with changing medical priorities and respond accordingly
Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors
Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed
Excellent teaching skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and fellow employees (TEAMWORK)
Strong customer service skills
Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation, and be receptive to change
Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
Required Experience
Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
Additional Knowledge:
Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology
Knowledge of surgical practices and medical terminology
Knowledge of sterile technique and precautions
Knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, equipment, and their use
