This is a high-level role that may involve many tasks: formulating overall strategy, managing employees with daily tasks, and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker.ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day operationsDesign strategy and set goals for growthMaintain budgets and optimize expensesSet policies and processesEnsure employees work productively and develop professionallyOversee recruitment and training of new employeesEvaluate and improve operations and financial performanceDirect the employee assessment processPrepare regular reports for upper managementEnsure staff follows health and safety regulations, along with cleanliness standardsProvide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)SkillsProven experience as a General Manager or similar executive roleBackground in restaurant, brewing, or hospitality businessExperience in planning and budgetingKnowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)Strong analytical abilityOutstanding organizational and leadership skillsProblem-solving aptitudeBSc/BA in Business or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plusWork Experience:

The General Manager must have demonstrated previous brewing experience, as well as managing other staff. They must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and in-depth knowledge of beer science.Duties include but are not limited to:At least 3-5 years’ experience in Manager ExperienceExperience in a role that involved managing staffExperience keeping records for quality controlExperience managing projectsMechanical or engineering experienceKey skills to be successful in this role include but are not limited to:Fantastic communication skills – The General Manager will liaise with dozens of people each day including suppliers, employees, managerial staff, and more.Computer literacy and technological skills – Many tasks will be performed on a computer including communication tasks, record keeping, project & resource management, and virtual team meetings.Engineering or mechanical skills – The General Manager must be somewhat familiar with the equipment used in the brewing process and the specific equipment used by their brewery.Capable of managing staff – this is crucial to the success of the brewery. The General Manager must ensure all necessary tasks are being performed correctly by staff and to a sufficient standard.
