Salary:
$110,000 - $120,000 per year
Job Description:
As the Senior Associate - Accounting Advisory, you’ll assist clients with complex accounting matters arising from regulatory or strategic business changes such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, adoption of new accounting standards, accounting framework conversions, IPO or other public offering assistance, and on-call accounting advice.
Your day-to-day will include:
Consulting on complex accounting transactions.
Ensuring work is high-quality, performed timely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Engaging client stakeholders including external auditors, audit committees, and client management to identify, assess, and deliver correct advice.
Identifying regulatory and market trends that are applicable to clients and becoming a trusted advisor.
Building relationships within and outside the company and leveraging the existing company network to identify new opportunities.
Collaborating within the accounting advisory service practice across regional teams and across functional service personnel to identify whitespace opportunities on existing clients and providing an integrated experience to our clients.
Preparing technical memos related to ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 842 (Lease), and ASC 330 (Inventory) for private and public companies.
Reviewing contracts and agreements, determining and researching the applicable accounting guidance.
Helping clients convert from GAAP to IFRS on financial statements and related disclosures.
You have the following technical skills and qualifications:
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field, or the foreign degree equivalent, and 3 years of experience as a Senior Financial Accountant, Project Accountant, or alternate related acceptable occupation.
Assisting companies with the technical accounting complexities associated with derivatives and hedging, IPO readiness, SPACs, business combinations, divestitures, structured transactions, sale and securitizations, secured financing alternatives, joint ventures and LIBOR/SOFR transition; transitioning from GAAP to IFRS, including the analysis of conversion approach, accounting policy, data gaps, conversion adjustments, GAAP reconciliation, system and process changes, and financial reporting; extracting detailed lease information from lease agreements, building the lease schedule to calculate ROU asset and lease liability, and preparing corresponding journal entries; reviewing provisions of contracts and agreements and researching applicable accounting guidance to draft technical accounting memos related to topics including ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, ASC 842 Leases, ASC 805 Business Combination, and ASC 810 Financial Consolidation; performing 5 step revenue recognition analysis process, helping clients to adjust revenue to comply with the revenue standards, and addressing any non-standard terms in the agreements; and converting direct cash flow statements to indirect cash flow statements.
30% travel to various unanticipated client locations. May work remotely.
