Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

The following duties are required of the Dentist - Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon position; they include, but are not limited to: Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures. Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions. Accomplish admissions, work-up and performance of surgical procedures of patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions. Accomplish dental-alveolar surgical procedures and complex dental extractions, treatment of orofacial infections, treatment of orofacial trauma, pre-prosthetic surgery, reduction of facial fractures, placement of dental implants and biopsy procedures. Treat orthognathic deformities, and grafting procedures including harvesting of graft material consistent with the practice of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. Provide safe and effective anesthesia services in the outpatient setting including intravenous sedation/general anesthesia (Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified - ACLS). Manage medically complex patients, including inpatients and perform history and physical. The individual must be able to work collegially with other dentists and physicians and should possess the skills, both interpersonal and professional.
