About the jobWe’re looking for a Product Accessibility Specialist to join our Walmart International UX team. You will support the execution of the Accessibility/Inclusive Design strategy across various platforms for global markets. This role entails closely collaborating with the Accessibility/Inclusive Design Leader, cross-functional teams, and key stakeholders to ensure we maximize our opportunities for Inclusive Design.
What you will doYou will:
Play an active role in creating and delivering on accessibility strategy for key product experiences across platforms (web, iOS and Android)
Partner with cross-functional teams - UX designers, researchers, developers, and content creators to identify/resolve accessibility barriers and embed accessibility in product design and development processes
Lead the design and delivery of comprehensive accessibility training programs for diverse audiences within the organization, including product teams, designers, developers, and executives.
Solves complex accessibility challenges and educate product teams and provide guidance and direction on accessibility standards and shift-left practices
Influence product teams and stakeholders at all levels to prioritize accessibility.
Review designs, mockups, and prototypes, and provide coaching to empower design and engineering teams to build more inclusive end-to-end user experiences
Bake accessibility in product processes to create accessibility specs and annotations
Lead conversations and implementation of accessibility automation into existing processes
Create presentations, case studies and reporting to drive accessibility change
Acts as a subject matter expert on accessibility compliance requirements, ensuring that products meet relevant legal and regulatory standards
Stay up to date with industry developments and trends related to digital accessibility
Act as a strategic thought partner across the organization on accessibility and advocate for accessibility and inclusive design throughout the organization to drive accessibility program maturity
Your Qualifications
5-7 years experience working in a similar role in a complex dynamic organization, with a demonstrated track record of driving accessibility maturity in a product organization
5 or more years experience in a front-end development or experience design role
IAAP’s accessibility certification CPACC, WAS (CPWA) required
Proven ability to provide accessibility solutions for designers, developers, and testers and working collaboratively with agile, cross-functional teams
Proven ability developing and delivering on accessibility training and driving organizational change through advocacy and coaching
Strong understanding of current international accessibility laws, standards, and best practices, including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1/2.2 and ARIA
Knowledge of assistive technology and contributing to design systems for digital products
Proficient with testing using screen reader(s) such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and Talkback and accessibility assessment, inspection & evaluation tools
Experience and knowledge in HTML and CSS, especially in relation to accessibility principles
Knowledge of accessibility automation for CI/CD, continuous monitoring etc.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to various stakeholders
Passion for digital accessibility and a commitment to creating products and services that are accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or background

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Minimum QualificationsOutlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position:
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 3 years’ experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.
Option 2: 5 years’ experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area.
Preferred QualificationsOutlined below are the optional preferred qualifications for this position:
Design certification (for example, IDEOU - Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate)
Driving product development in a user experience area
Master's degree in UI/UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, Product Design, or related area
Related industry experience (for example, retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare)
