MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates MUST meet all minimum qualifications to apply.Must have NO binding obligations to another police department, including, but not limited to time in service and/or financial obligations.Be a resident of NJ.Be at least 18 years of age.Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license.Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.Must be of sound moral character verified by a background investigation.No criminal background. All successful candidates must pass a comprehensive background investigation which includes fingerprints, a medical examination, and a drug test by urinalysis.Must work flexible hours and be able to perform all essential job functions for a police officer.Be physically capable of performing the functions of the position in accordance with the Police Training Commission (PTC).Please direct questions regarding this position to

Provide police services to residents and visitors 24/7, including emergent and non-emergent calls for service.Assist patrol officers with general duties associated with the patrol function.Respond to calls for service in accordance with department policies.Transport and maintain control of prisoners.Provide court security.Any other duties related to the proper functioning and operation of the Margate City Police Department.Hiring Process:
