The successful candidate will have law firm or in-house experience with privacy and cybersecurity breach response or litigation and a demonstrated interest in these areas.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide legal advice on privacy and data protection compliance matters.Advise on data security incidents and manage related regulatory investigations.Ensure compliance with state, federal, and international data security incident notification obligations.Support clients in adhering to contractual and legal obligations related to security.Defend clients in regulatory investigations related to privacy and security.Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to address data privacy and security issues.Draft and review legal documents, including policies, procedures, and reports.Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Manage and prioritize a fast-paced, complex workload while anticipating potential issues.Stay updated on developments in privacy and data protection laws and technology.Requirements3-6 years of relevant experience, including law firm or in-house privacy and cybersecurity breach response or litigation.Proven experience in advising on privacy and security obligations.Demonstrated expertise in state, federal, and international data security incident notification obligations.Experience defending regulatory investigations related to privacy and security.Education and CertificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the Bar in the relevant state (Ohio preferred).SkillsExceptional project management skills.Strong awareness of data privacy and security laws.Effective and persuasive writing and oral communication skills.Ability to manage a fast-paced, complex workload while maintaining priorities.Motivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigations.Ability to interact effectively with technically skilled individuals and distill key issues for non-technical business team members.Professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in a collaborative team environment.
