Job SummaryThe Associate Marketing and Communications Manager will be a member of the Corporate Communications and Brand Marketing team and work closely with each IEEE Operating Unit to develop and execute strategic, creative, engaging, and informative communications and marketing campaigns that increase communication and brand awareness of the effort.

This position will be responsible for creating and implementing internal and external campaigns comprised of written, visual, and multimedia content for a multitude of uses. The incumbent is a creative thinker, detail-oriented, results-driven, and has experience planning and executing projects expertly involving multiple key constituencies with competing priorities. The role reports to the External and Global Communications Sr Manager and has no direct reports.

Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborating with cross-functional teams to conceive and execute communications strategies and campaigns supporting internal and external company initiatives - must have a strong project management background.Monitoring and tracking the progress of these initiatives along with seeking out new opportunities for merchandising the public visibility program internally. In addition, collaborate with the team on key projects to help monitor metrics and reporting.Developing written, visual, and multimedia content for specific projects, collaborating with key stakeholders to provide creative direction and project management of communication materials and other materials to support the team and operating units.Social media expertise to review content strategically and work with the team on editorial calendars to ensure content is aligned with brand standards and isn’t duplicative against all projects.Overseeing key projects and collaborating with the team strategically on project announcements for the organization.Creating press releases as needed for the project.Writing articles contributing to company newsletters and other communications as needed to promote projects.Developing content or working with an agency on Corporate Communications-managed social media accounts leveraging best practices to maximize engagement and reviewing metrics to help inform future content.Additional ResponsibilitiesMaintaining analytics for key projects and for key stakeholders.Upholding consistent corporate brand standards in written communication and visual collateral.Leveraging an internal and external network to effectively produce high-quality content across a variety of projects along with social media monitoring.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a major in Communications, English, Business, Marketing, or other relevant focus of study in writing, communication, and critical analysis.Work Experience4-7 years of marketing and/or communications experience; professional service or consulting industry experience is a plus.Demonstrated strong project management skills and/or project management certification (PMP credential).Strong metrics skills in the area of communications: public relations and social media along with social media monitoring and collaborating with the team on opportunities.Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to coordinate the activities of various team members when faced with multiple deadlines.Demonstrated ability to write and communicate in a clear and compelling manner, with a strong command of English grammar and editing, as well as attention to detail.Experience developing and executing unique messaging for campaigns.A good eye for visualization, layout, and/or graphic design skills to facilitate appealing and effective communication.Creativity and resourcefulness, with the ability to execute creative ideas effectively.Self-motivated and results-driven.Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills with a “hands-on” and team-oriented attitude.Skills and RequirementsProficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Google Suite).Other Requirements:As defined in IEEE Policies, individuals currently serving on an IEEE board or committee are not eligible to apply.
