Job Summary

In this Sales Consultant role, you will lead and direct sales related activity through the design and execution of group specific (California Teachers Association - CTA) customized enrollment strategies. This role is a unique blend of sales enablement, customer service, and account management with the purpose to increase group participation levels while also accomplishing policyholder objectives for their group.
  • Serve as the primary resource for CTA field sales to gather the information necessary to design and execute a customized enrollment strategy for new CTA voluntary and district-paid customers.
  • Develop and manage effective primary relationships with CTA contacts through professional negotiation, responsive communication, problem resolution, and exceptional customer service.
  • Lead conversations related to technology, data integration and data feeds to provide guidance to CTA field sales and customers with the intention of providing a positive employee and customer experience.

Skills and Background You'll Need
  • Education: A bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of additional experience is required.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience providing pre-sales consultancy or leadership within one of the following fields (employee benefits, health insurance, or finance) is required.
  • License required: A Life and Disability license in states within assigned territory must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, and influence a team of sales professionals.
  • Proven analytical experience, applying data trends to solutions for objectives.
  • An ability to travel up to 20-30% during peak sales and enrollment periods.
  • Salesforce is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience working with a scholastic system is a plus, but not required.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.


Salary Range:
$84,000.00 - $123,250.00
