We are on the hunt for a dedicated and experienced Consulting Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of medications, contributing to the overall success of our healthcare services. This role requires a professional who is competent, meticulous, and possesses a deep understanding of medical terminology and pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications.
- Maintain accurate patient medication profiles.
- Conduct routine inventory checks and manage stock levels of pharmaceutical supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Provide medication information and education to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Respond to medication-related queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy services.
- Assist in the training and mentorship of junior pharmacy staff.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a Pharmacy Technician Certification and be registered as a Pharmacy Technician.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an inpatient setting is required.
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy operations.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in the use of pharmacy management systems and other relevant computer applications.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Flexible with work schedules and able to work on a rotating shift basis.
- A strong understanding of pharmaceutical drugs, their uses, and potential side effects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
- A strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
