Academy Media Intern

D.C. United is seeking applicants for an Academy Media Internship Position. The candidate will assist with all aspects of the club’s media channels.As part of the Academy Operations team, you will work closely with the Academy Director, Academy Administrator, Digital Marketing Contractor, and coaching staff to help with marketing activities as required. Candidates must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is an unpaid internship.Fall Internship:

8/12/34 – 12/13/24Projects may include, but are not limited to:Media coverage of DC United AcademyAssist with content management of social media and digital channelsAssist with content creation for social media channels and websiteCapture real-time photo/video content at Academy training, matches, and community eventsPhotography and VideographyPrevious experience in social media and content creation is a plus; sports experience and soccer knowledge is preferred.Candidates must submit a website/portfolio that displays examples of previous work.Through these tasks the candidate can expect to learn about:The end-to-end functioning of an Academy media team including digital and social media planning, communications strategy, and event management.Working experience running social media accountsIntroductory knowledge of video shooting/editingThe day-to-day operations of a soccer Academy/first team of an official MLS club.Candidates should possess a strong professional attitude and be extremely detail-oriented. Applicants should be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in sports business, management, marketing, communication, etc. All candidates must have a valid driver’s license and complete a background check.All candidates must complete a successful background check.D.C.
