About the Role:

We're on the hunt for a dynamic

Employment Law Attorney

to join the hive on behalf of our clients. In this role, you'll advocate on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators, focusing on school district defense. If you're passionate about employment law and have extensive experience in representing school districts, we want to meet you!

Your Mission:

Advocate on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators.

Prepare correspondence to clients, draft pleadings, and manage calendars.

Conduct depositions, cross-examine doctors, and negotiate settlements.

Mentor and manage legal assistants while establishing relationships with clients, co-workers, and vendors.

Attend court appearances, client meetings, and marketing events.

Conduct training seminars for clients on changing employment laws, with a focus on school district defense.

Review files, input case information into Practice Master, and meet deadlines for client correspondence.

What You Bring:

Law Degree with a minimum of 15 years of employment law experience.

Licensed in CA with proven experience in school district defense.

Extensive knowledge of education law, including student rights, special education law, IDEA compliance, and employment law in education.

Strong expertise in handling cases related to teacher and staff disputes, discrimination defense, harassment and bullying policies, and collective bargaining agreements.

Additional Requirements:

Must be a United States citizen or authorized to work in the United States.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Available for standard operating hours (8 am to 5 pm) with unlimited PTO and a $3k quarterly bonus not based on performance.

Bonus Points For:

Experience with Title IX Compliance, school board counsel, and education policy advisory.

Proficiency in litigation and defense for schools, including student discipline hearings and compliance with education regulations.

Skills in contract negotiation for schools, governance for educational institutions, and regulatory compliance for school districts.

Location:

Remote (Must be located anywhere in CA & licensed in CA - report directly to one of the managers in any of the 10 offices in CA, designated office will be based on candidate location)
