Summary:

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Program is seeking a highly skilled Wireless Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage advanced wireless network solutions. This role is crucial for ensuring the security and efficiency of DHS communication systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in wireless networking, security protocols, and project management, with the ability to support high-stakes operations and maintain critical infrastructure.Responsibilities:Design and Implementation:

Develop and deploy robust wireless network solutions that meet the specific needs of the DHS program, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.Network Management:

Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot wireless network systems to ensure optimal performance and availability. Address and resolve any issues related to network connectivity, security, and performance.Security Protocols:

Implement and enforce wireless security protocols and best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with DHS security standards.Configuration and Upgrades:

Configure and upgrade wireless network hardware and software to meet evolving requirements and improve network capabilities.Documentation and Reporting:

Create detailed documentation for network configurations, changes, and incident reports. Provide regular status updates and reports to DHS program management.Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with other IT teams, DHS personnel, and external vendors to support integration efforts, resolve technical issues, and enhance network infrastructure.Compliance:

Ensure all network activities adhere to DHS regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices.Training and Guidance:

Provide training and support to DHS staff on wireless network usage, security practices, and troubleshooting techniques.Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CWNP) are preferred.Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in wireless network engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex wireless networks. Experience in a government or DHS environment is a plus.Technical Skills:In-depth knowledge of wireless networking technologies, including Wi-Fi, 4G/5G, and related protocols.Proficiency in wireless network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.Experience with network security protocols and encryption methods.Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance analysis.Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.Security Clearance:

Must be able to pass the DHS law enforcement background check.

Posted Min Pay Rate:USD $79,648.00/Yr.

Posted Max Pay Rate:USD $132,746.67/Yr.

Salary Disclosure:Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications.

The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance. This includes factors such as education, certifications, and extensive/unique experience beyond what is required.
