Location: Vancouver, WA

ACC Environmental Consultants, has an opportunity for a detail oriented, well organized, dependable professional, to join our Vancouver, Washington office. This full-time position requires attention to detail, strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and willingness to learn and teach. This position is a combination of bidding projects, client interactions, field and office work with a heavy focus on data evaluation and reporting and mentoring junior staff. This position requires some travel.

Successful Candidates Should Have:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering or Environmental Science.
  • Oregon Registered Geologist and/or Washington Licensed Geologist credential.
  • Familiar with environmental site investigations, soil vapor/groundwater/soil/indoor air sampling, assessment, characterization, and data quality review/date evaluation.
  • Provides support, including client and subcontractor management, data interpretation and preparation of technical documents with supporting documentation such as data tables and figures.
  • Manages data requests with various stakeholders and evaluates and prepares responses to regulatory issues.
  • Must be willing to travel within the Oregon and Washington regions.
  • Oral and written communications are very important for this position.
  • Sound decision making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail oriented and strong organization skills.
  • Proven ability to perform in a high volume, time sensitive/deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at a given time.
  • Ability to work and contribute to a team environment.
  • OSHA 40-hour Hazmat training.
  • Proficient with several computer applications including MS Word and Excel.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in geology, environmental geology, engineering or related discipline.
  • Advanced degree is a plus.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
  • Technical review of Environmental Assessments and Remediation projects.
  • Provide independent project management/task planning, execution, analysis, and reporting for specific discipline.
  • Manage tasks associated with pre and post field activities such as preparations of work plans and health and safety plans (HASPs), obtaining permits, soliciting subcontractors, and contributing to and/or providing oversight in report preparation.
  • Research and solve technical problems in accordance with accepted practice/methodology and report on results.
  • Manage projects ensuring that accepted field, analytical and professional practices are used and the acquisition of quality data to achieve the goals of the project.
  • Delegate field work to qualified field staff. When necessary, perform fieldwork at projects sites, as needed.
  • Work with your respective team to deliver the defined scope of work and project deliverable items on time, within budget, and of the quality that is in accordance with ACC protocols and format, client expectations, and industry standards.
  • Supervise staff/subcontractors and delegate various tasks to junior staff and/or subcontractors.
  • Coordinate, supervise and/or perform management of subsurface exploration, well installation, remedial excavation, O&M monitoring, construction oversight, groundwater monitoring and sampling.
  • Report preparation, including performing data interpretation, developing internal recommendations within established guidelines, and providing responses to client and regulator comments.
  • Participate in all aspects of proposal preparation and scoping exercises, such as sourcing and seeking quotes from subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Generates leads and develops new business opportunities through networking.
  • Attends industry related conferences, exhibitions, associations, and functions.
