We are seeking an SRP GIS Coordinator to join the Fort Irwin Sustainable Range Program (SRP) Integrated Training Area Management. The successful candidate will support the creation, analysis, management, and distribution of standardized geospatial information, products, and services to enhance range modernization, range operations, and the Integrated Training Area Management Program at Fort Irwin. This position offers an opportunity to work directly with both civilian and military personnel in an impactful role. Key Responsibilities: Develop data in accordance with established Quality Assurance Plans. Collaborate with military and civilian personnel to create and manage GIS data. Perform field data collection, GIS program management, metadata development, and map production for military, internal, and civilian clients. Develop web maps and provide GIS instruction and custom GIS training support. Conduct initial Quality Control (QC) on data and produced geospatial representations. Create and maintain metadata and submit regular progress reports. Prepare maps for training exercises, project development, and various requests. Coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to support installation needs and sustainability programs. Perform data collection, sharing, and general data management activities. Create and update geospatial data, databases, maps, services, and applications. Participate in meetings and conference calls. Communicate technical information to both experts and non-experts. Perform data calls for installation leadership and respond to programmatic requests. Required Skills: Proficient in ESRIs ArcGIS 10.6.1 and ArcGIS Pro 2.1. Experience with spatial analysis, including buffers, extractions, and line of sight using ESRIs ArcToolbox. Knowledge of raster and vector datasets for analysis and decision-making. Familiarity with SQL in a relational database environment. Experience using Trimble GPS hardware and software for mapping and data collection. Strong understanding of geospatial data management and Quality Assurance processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to traverse rough terrain while carrying up to 40 lbs. Desirable Skills: Familiarity with the US Army Sustainable Range Program. Knowledge of SDSFIE and FGDC metadata schema. Experience using spatial analysis, topology, and 3D Analyst extensions. Knowledge of SQL Server, ArcGIS Server, and ArcSDE. Experience creating large-scale map products and adhering to metadata standards. Greater than 2 years' experience developing geospatial or tabular data compliant with FGDC standards. Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years' professional experience in GIS, including digital data management, map creation, and system maintenance. Experience with large-format plotters and GPS data collection. Familiarity with government contracts and working in a matrix organization. Bachelors Degree in GIS, Geography with an emphasis in GIS, or a related field with a GIS Certification and at least two years of relevant experience. Desirable Certifications: ArcGIS Desktop Associate certification GISP certification Salary Range: $67,000 to $73,000 depending on experience.
