Maintenance Manager

Nesco Resource is searching for a HANDS-ON MAINTENANCE MANAGER WITH STRONG PLC EXPERIENCE to join an established global manufacturer in East Lansing area. This is a Direct-Hire Opportunity!

Schedule: Monday through Thursday 6am - 4:30pm (evenings or Fridays are very rare, no weekends)
Salary: $80-110k 6% year-end performance bonus
NOTE: Extensive Maintenance and PLC testing are part of the interview process

Primary Role:

  • Develop and lead the maintenance organization to efficiently meet all plant KPI objectives through use of The EPIQ Way; develop and ensure an overall strategy/plan for the maintenance department aligned to the plant KPI requirements
  • Keep pace with evolutionary advances in state-of-the-art equipment and processes, and recommend capital expenditures to upgrade equipment processes
  • Develop and administer a viable Lockout/Tagout safety program, and assure compliance with all plant safety programs and regulations
  • Assess and develop an ongoing training program to further the skill levels of the maintenance staff
  • Develop and initiate equipment standard processes targeting improvements for short-term (back-up), repair, and long-term uptime improvements
  • Oversee an efficient and effective program to manage the spare parts inventory, preventive maintenance, and life cycle replacement/upgrades for all plant equipment
  • Provide technical leadership for the local plant needs
  • Serve as primary contact and lead for all new projects for equipment-related needs
  • Support plant/maintenance operations as required 24/7
Qualifications:
  • This is a Just-in-Time facility, so JIT experience and mindset are required
  • This is a highly technical working manager role that will be replacing someone with a very strong PLC background - must be able to perform, program, and troubleshoot PLC with little to no assistance
  • Prior management or supervisory experience is required; project management experience is preferred
  • This position will have 2 direct reports and will report directly to the Plant Manager
  • Must have 5 years of progressive experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (preferably the auto industry) with a history of skills in:
    • Electrical schematics or ladder logic
    • Project planning and costing
    • Machine repair and equipment or process layouts
    • Work and product flow planning
    • Sequencing
    • PLC controls
    • Hydraulics and pneumatics
    • Robotics experience preferred
    • Injection molding experience is helpful
    • Must be adaptable, have effective communication skills and conflict management skills, problem solving, planning, closure, focus on customer service, and attention to detail
Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
Computer Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • MRP experience in maintaining all necessary records for maintenance requirements
  • Statistical Process Control skills preferred
