Overview:

This position provides leadership and administrative oversight for the BTC Foundation, grants, and community relations, ensuring the appropriate level of coordination among all areas of the College so that positive external relationships are created and maintained. This position ensures that College development, grants, and the Foundation are fully integrated with College priorities and aligned with the Colleges strategic initiatives. This position is responsible for planning and directing all resource development and philanthropic initiatives for the College, which includes all policies, objectives, and initiatives related to grants administration, the BTC Foundation, and alumni functions.This position will be open until filled, with a first review date of October 7, 2024. After this date, the recruitment may close without further notice. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.Responsibilities:Provide overall leadership, direction, and coordination of the Colleges Community Relations activities in collaboration with internal constituents.Identify, develop, and strengthen relationships with key College constituents, both internal and external.Identify and develop community collaborations, business partnerships, and events that support the College brand and enhance its reputation.Develop and execute plans for engaging civic, business, cultural, and governmental entities through personal contacts, speaking engagements, awareness building, and leadership in community initiatives.Ensure appropriate representation of College staff and/or Foundation leaders at community events.Develop strategies and carry out opportunities that enhance the understanding of the value and impact of the College with the community.Provide overall leadership, direction, and coordination of the Blackhawk Technical College Foundation and alumni relations.Serve as the Presidents liaison to the BTC Foundation.Manage all aspects of annual and capital fundraising, including coordination of prospects, volunteers, solicitations, and donor stewardship.Develop and implement all Foundation and alumni policies and procedures.Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive, structured fundraising program including annual employee, community, corporate, and alumni campaigns.Develop and oversee the annual Foundation and alumni relations operating budget.Organize and coordinate special events related to the Foundation and alumni relations.Develop positive, professional, and mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external constituents.Oversee and monitor all Foundation and alumni processes, data, records, and systems for efficiency and accuracy. Supervise Foundation staff.Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with College staff, the District Board, and Foundation Board members.Recruit and orient members of the BTC Foundation Board.Provide overall leadership, direction, and coordination for researching, identifying, writing and securing financialresources (i.e. federal, state, corporate, private and grant funds) that support Blackhawk initiatives.Supervise related staff in conducting research on potential funding sources, such as corporate, federal and state funding that support College initiatives and programs.Ensure that proposals and grant applications are developed and submitted according to guidelines; ensure compliance with grant follow-up and related deadlines.Create and maintain grant-related documents and processes and provide guidance on implementation of awards.Responsible for special assignments and projects as assigned.Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Familiarity with fundraising campaigns, major gifts, planned giving and donor relations.Familiarity with grant applications, awarding grants and monitoring funded projects.Knowledge of budgeting and compliance with nonprofit financial regulations, including tax laws and regulationsgoverning foundations and 501(c)(3) organizations.Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and managemultiple projects simultaneously.Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with boards, donors and other internal and external stakeholders.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with boards, communityleaders/organizations, corporate partners, donors and other internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse populations.Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.Experience with Microsoft Office and knowledge of technology applications for fundraising and donormanagement.Education & Experience:Bachelors degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.Three (3) years of diverse and progressively more responsible experience in business, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.Experience in alumni relations, foundation management, grants administration, or corporate or non-profit fundraising preferred.Experience with college foundations and community relations in an educational environment preferred.CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) desired.Blackhawk Technical College does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position.
