We are seeking an experienced Paralegal with expertise in business and finance litigation to assist in finalizing the preparation of a lawsuit.Must be available to meet on PST hours.Your role will involve:Reviewing and formatting the existing legal documents, including complaints, motions, and subpoenas related to complex business and financial disputes, to ensure they meet court standards.Organizing and labeling evidence exhibits in a clear and coherent manner, ensuring they are ready to be attached to pleadings.Providing concise explanations of the business and financial evidence to be used, ensuring that it effectively supports our claims at the direction of case litigator.Scope:Keyword search Litigation file production.Draft legal documents including motions and discovery requests.Assist in trial preparation (organizing exhibits, witness lists).File court documents and manage deadlines.Review and proofread legal documents.Communicate with our legal team on case progress.Functions include, but are not limited to:Data entry in legal case management system software such as Filevine.Update and maintain legal case management system.Filling in Court Forms.Prepare templates in Microsoft Word for discovery phase.Create case caption and proof of service templates in Microsoft Word.Download, rename, combine court documents in Adobe Acrobat Pro.Rename, extract, combine subpoena documents in Adobe Acrobat Pro.Organize litigation case files.Download legal documents from court website.Update and maintain case status chart.Update and maintain subpoena chart.Draft deposition notices.Draft deposition preparation summary.Draft deposition summaries from transcripts.May require calendaring.Ensuring all documents and evidence are meticulously organized, labeled, and prepared for filing in court.Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in civil litigation with a focus on business and finance disputes.Strong attention to detail, with experience in reviewing and formatting legal documents in business and finance cases.Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to clearly explain and present complex financial evidence.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.Ideal Requirements:Proven experience as a paralegal supporting cases in the United States (California).Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.Exceptional writing and organizational skills.Familiarity with California court procedures.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.Available 10-20 hours per week for project duration.Please submit your proposal on Upwork, including your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
