Focused on fast-paced, MEP-intensive projects, the group is recognized for delivering complex solutions while offering significant opportunities for career advancement within the thriving mission-critical construction industry.The Electrical Estimator will support the Mission Critical Center of Excellence and be responsible for in-house project budgeting, including preparing quantity surveys and understanding current unit cost. The Electrical Estimator will also obtain subcontractor bid pricing, including ensuring compliance with scope of work, and offer construction feasibility and value engineering while maintaining relationships with electrical contractors.Responsibilities:Unit Cost Pricing:Clearly understand the complexity of the scope of work as shown on the construction documentsPrepare detailed take offs of materialsPrepare detailed labor estimates utilizing man-hours, crews and equipmentSolicit material prices from suppliersObtain current labor ratesUnderstand the influence of market conditions on pricingSubcontractor Solicitation & Selection:Work with Lead Estimator to prepare electrical subcontractor bid listPrepare subcontractor bid packages including transmittals, drawings and specificationsFollow up with subs regarding bidding and update the subcontractor listAnswer subcontractor questions during the bidding periodsPrepare Exhibit B Scope of work documents for subcontractor bidsPrepare scope sheets for subcontractors, and review scope of workWork with Operations team on purchasing the appropriate subcontractorElectrical Design ConsultationProvide construction feasibility feedback on design documentsProvide value engineering ideas and pricingMaintain relationships with local designersSubcontractor Relationships & Feedback:Develop and maintain relationships with all local electrical subcontractors and vendorsKeep Subcontractors up to date with project information and addenda during the bidding processObtain vendor pricing before subcontractor pricing is being solicitedPreconstruction Abilities:Assist the Senior Estimator with quantity take offs and subcontractor solicitationPrepare document lists and correspondence during pre-constructionOtherAttend weekly staff meetings and report on status of assignmentsAttend Training classes as requiredQualifications:

Bachelors DegreeMinimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical Estimating, or equivalentComputer skillsWorking knowledge of Excel spread sheets, and Word processing programsExperience with estimating softwareCandidate must possess Suffolks Core Values: Passion, Integrity, Hard Work, Professionalism, and Caring
