The Director of Sales is responsible for achieving revenue goals through the implementation of effective sales strategies that maximize the generation of resort revenue and meet overall resort goals. The successful candidate will have a proven track record within the resort hospitality environment, and work closely with the Vice President of Sales and Event Management in developing the overall sales and marketing strategies of the property. The position is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the sales effort, and leadership skills necessary to maximize profits and revenue for both Casa Loma Beach Hotel & Laguna Beach House.Essential Functions:Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments and delegate responsibilities effectivelyExtensive experience in the daily management of the group sales processEnforce all hotel standards, policies and proceduresAbility to effectively plan and implement processes and procedures necessary to ensure effective associate relations and customer satisfaction while achieving budgeted hotel revenuesAbility to work independently in the performance of job dutiesEffectively plan strategic tactics to ensure the future success of the hotelsImplement a successful direct sales and business development program and processImplement and monitor sales action plans within the marketing planExcellent skills in team building, selecting sales talent and establishing strong customer relationshipsDemonstrate professional presentation skills, including verbal and written communicationDevelop strategies for forecasting and analyzing sales needs and developing effective product responses, delivery systems and methods for measuring and evaluating resultsParticipate in property-wide leadership and culture development programsEnsure all deadlines are satisfied relating to monthly, quarterly and annual reporting needsWork closely with the Vice President of Sales & Event Management in developing, preparing and executing business plans within each market segment and analyze market trends to implement programs and tactical changes that address market conditionsMonitor sales activity and performance to ensure the property meets or exceeds established revenue plan and goalsCoach, mentor and cultivate property associates to maximize sales performance and profit for the hotelsAbility to lead and direct performance of departmental associates and follow through with corrections where neededAbility to analyze and resolve challenges implementing good judgment and maintaining the best interest of the resortAttend all meetings necessary to the Director of Sales positionAbility to maintain confidentiality of all guest and hotels informationAbility to work effectively with all departments to ensure the properties successCreativity, forward thinking, passion and drive are critical to the success of this position

Qualifications:Minimum of five years destination resort sales leadershipCollege graduate or equivalent industry sales experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong customer service aptitudeStrong understanding of budgetary, forecasting and fiscal responsibility within the resort and sales and marketing departmentProven leadership within a dominant group segment propertyComputer literacy and the ability to utilize Word, Excel, and department specific programs

Working Conditions:This is a full-time exempt position. Actual hours may vary dependent on business needs but will generally fall between 5:00 am and 10:00 pm and are flexible with some approved remote days. Attendance as scheduled is a critical element in all positions at Casa Loma Beach Hotel and Laguna Beach House.
