Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Kitty Hawk Technologies will be a strategic partner to the CEO/President and a key member of the executive leadership team. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, including financial planning, risk management, and financial reporting. This role requires a deep understanding of the defense contracting industry, including compliance with federal regulations and the management of government contracts. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy of the company, ensuring long-term financial health, and supporting the company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy & Planning:

Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's overall business goals and objectives.

Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO/President and executive team to guide decision-making.

Financial Operations:

Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, tax, treasury, and financial reporting.

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP and government contracting regulations.

Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure planning to ensure the company's financial stability.

Risk Management & Compliance:

Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including those related to government contracts and regulatory compliance.

Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including FAR/DFAR regulations.

Oversee internal controls and audit processes to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Government Contracts:

Oversee financial aspects of government contracts, including pricing, contract negotiation, and financial reporting.

Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and government requirements, including DCAA audits.

Provide financial support and analysis for bid and proposal processes.

Leadership & Team Management:

Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

Work closely with other executive leaders to ensure alignment between financial goals and company strategy.

Mentor and coach finance staff to build a high-performing finance organization.

Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Relations:

Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, investors, and government agencies.

Collaborate with the CEO/President and other executives to identify and evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic opportunities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role.

Strong knowledge of government contracting, including FAR/DFAR regulations and DCAA compliance.

Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting within the defense contracting industry.

Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management, government officials, and other key stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.

Pay: $86,232.00 - $98,034.00 per year
