General Manager of Power System Sales Opportunity Summary:

Position directs and coordinates all activities related to the domestic sale of power system equipment (loose engines, power units/power packs, transmissions, gears, control systems and all related ancillary equipment). Works with key team members such as the General Sales Manager of Power Generation, the Sales Manager of Mexico and the Manager of Engineering and Sales Support to develop and maintain a satisfied and loyal customer base, an effective dealer network and strong support from our OEM business partners. Position reports to the Vice President of Business Development and Sales (VP Sales).

Job Duties:

Works with the VP Sales to develop appropriate financial goals congruent with the needs of the company. Develops strategies and identifies tactics necessary to achieve these goals. Monitors and manages plan achievement during the plan year and takes corrective action as needed to ensure that financial goals are met.

Works with the VP Sales in development of all OEM-required business plans; monitors achievement and takes corrective action as needed.

In concert with direct reports, develops individual financial goals for all reporting sales personnel. Assists in the development of strategies for achieving said goals.

Directs the development and management of an effective dealer network throughout the WWW operational network.

Interviews, hires and reviews team members. Creates new positions as needed to ensure goal achievement, business growth and customer satisfaction.

Coaches team members and communicates with them regularly. Assists with meeting their needs for technical and customer support. Helps them formulate strategies and techniques to win business and properly follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction. Evaluates team member sales techniques and assists in customer calls and in negotiating and closing deals whenever necessary.

Provides an environment in which team members can be self-motivated to achieve goals and improve their capabilities.

Determines individual and group training needs and establishes both in-house and external programs to ensure that team members receive the training they need for maximum performance.

Develops efficiencies and cost controls within the sales process. Monitors and approves all significant expenses related to the sales of power system products. Manages the expense budget.

Coaches subordinate team members to achieve optimal results. Provides an environment in which team members can be self-motivated to achieve goals and improve their capabilities.

Reviews monthly operating results against forecast to identify areas of focus and improvement.

Reports operating results to the VP Sales which includes but is not limited to new business wins and losses, revenues, margins and other performance indicators. Communicates pressing issues with urgency where response times are of the essence, regardless of day or time of day.

Manages and approves sales commissions for all sales team personnel.

Ensures acceptance of new systems such as CRM management tools and OEM business portal tools.

Evaluates and reports escalated customer, employee or OEM issues to ensure timely resolutions with the best possible outcomes.

Helps identify strategic growth opportunities such as territory expansion, new OEM product lines or dealer additions.

Oversees engine service dealer development program and all associated processes.

Assists VP Sales and other Executive Team Members in the development of new power train business partner relationships.

Work Experience & Qualifications:

At least 2 years of relevant sales experience required and/or equivalent industry experience.

Basic to intermediate technical knowledge required to perform the job successfully

Sales and negotiation skills.

Strong work ethic and high sense of motivation.

Competent knowledge of business software systems, such as BMS, Microsoft Office, and Lotus Notes.

Excellent organizational, written, verbal, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Customer Service Focus with experience in customer problem resolution.
