The FRFS enterprise has an exciting opportunity to be a part of the FRFS Payments Operations Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as the Senior Vice President and Head of Operations. In this role, the selected individual will report directly to the Chief of Payments Operations and will be an integral part of the team leading FRFS into the future. In partnership with the FRFS Payments Operations SLT, this senior officer will serve as the primary executive of business operations for FedNowSM, FedACH, Check Services, and Wholesale (Fedwire Funds, Securities, and the National Settlement Service). This officer will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight as it relates to the suite of application services, as well as other supported services.

FRFS operates as a fully integrated organization with groups dedicated to operations, technology, product and industry engagement, enterprise services, and one focused on the ongoing growth and development of the FedNow instant payment service. Your role as Head of Operations

Contribute to the vision, strategy, values, and priorities that help the FRFS enterprise achieve its mission, as a member of the Payments Operations senior leadership team.

Provide direction and oversight to support the operation and monitoring for all payments and securities services processing applications along with all other supporting services. Ensure all operational performance and quality targets are achieved.

Advance comprehensive resiliency, business continuity, and incident, problem and knowledge management strategies for FRFS services.

Identify, justify, and support opportunities for continuous improvement and automation.

Identify, drive, and measure initiatives to advance the efficiency and effectiveness of 24 x 7 operations in a highly virtual and matrixed environment.

Provide input into the technology and product development pipeline and look for new ways to streamline and enhance customer experience.

Create a strong common culture that puts the customer first with a cohesive awareness and understanding of how our customers use our services.

Partner with all leaders within the FRFS and colleagues throughout the System in a collaborative manner, using influence and empathy to build relationships and trust.

Develop close relationships with key stakeholders and external partners to ensure contemporary thinking to align services with customer needs.

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or similar field of study, or equivalent work experience; MBA or similar post-graduate degree preferred.

Typically has 15+ years of progressive people and business leadership experience.

Experience in Federal Reserve Financial Services is strongly preferred.

Location

The selected candidate will reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the employing Reserve Bank.

The following Reserve Bank locations are preferred: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, Minneapolis, New York, Richmond, and San Francisco.
