BASIC FUNCTION:
The Director of Finance will oversee the Accounting Department and maintain accounting standards within established policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Four years' experience as a Hotel/Resort Director of Finance
Ability to communicate effectively
Club/membership experience preferred but not mandatory
Problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work under pressure
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintain and secure assets, minimizing outstanding receivables and investments inventories
Prepare operational budgets and forecasts in conjunction with the President, CEO, and Division Heads
Prepare cash flow forecasts on a monthly basis
Oversee preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements while adhering to the property closing schedule
Develop and maintain internal controls in all departments
Maintain all contracts, leases, and other legal and financial records
Implement and support property operating policies and procedures
Operate in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and government regulations
Assist in the development of the Risk Management program and maintain insurance programs
Coordinate all financial audits by outside or inside concerns
Coordinate all internal financial training and development of department managers and accounting staff
Function as financial advisor to ownership and provide ongoing special project support
Prepare periodic presentations at owner's meetings
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Respond to any reasonable task assigned by the President and CEO and/or property owners
Attend and conduct meetings as required both within the department and within the property's organizational structure
Ensure effective solution-oriented communication within the department and with other operational departments
Additional Licenses and/or Certifications Required:
Valid Driver's License
CPR Certification
Food Protection Manager Certification
Food Handler Certification
Alcohol Server/Seller Certification
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Environmental factors may include indoor settings with overhead lighting and comfortable ventilation. May occasionally be called upon to work in all areas of the property, both inside and outside, possibly in inclement weather.
