What you will doWe are seeking a Chief Architect to join our dynamic team within PGIM. In this role, you will be a key thought leader helping to set the direction for the PGIM businesses to align with PGIM’s target state architecture and Global Technology’s vision and strategy. Additionally, you will also serve as a member of Global Technology’s Architecture leadership team, collaborate across architecture domains (Solution, Data, Infrastructure, Security), and act as a key evangelist to educate and influence many partners.

With business-focused execution as a primary driver, you will partner across business and technology teams to drive adoption of consistent Architecture Patterns, Reference Architecture, and Processes across PGIM and ensure alignment with other Architecture domains. You will leverage your understanding of what constitutes a high-quality enterprise architecture and partner with solution teams to implement best-in-class technology solutions.

This role is based in our office in Newark, NJ. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. This position requires your on-site presence on a recurring weekly basis of 2 days per week.

What you can expect

A primary responsibility of this role will be to evangelize strategic direction and develop roadmaps to ensure PGIM alignment with overall target state vision.

Ensure new initiatives and related projects are aligned to organization-wide target state architecture, including review and approval of key design documents.

Provide solution architecture consultation and support for initiatives and product teams; educate business and technology communities across all levels of the organization on vision, strategy, and target state architecture, including standards, trends, opportunities, and challenges.

Apply Application Portfolio Management practices; identify opportunities for modernization and rationalization for our PGIM application portfolio.

Demonstrate a talent mindset by evangelizing architecture transformation, influencing adoption of the transformation, and driving modernization goals across the enterprise.

Apply expertise in current/modern patterns and practices across domain areas.

Study the market and industry to proactively identify tech-forward opportunities to solve complex new business and technology challenges and take advantage of the new opportunities that come with technology innovation.

What you will bring

Knowledge of Information Technology and Enterprise Architecture and experience in native Cloud hosting with a particular focus on Azure services.

Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering.

At least 10+ years of technology, architecture, and leadership experience, preferably in the financial industry.

Strong technical knowledge of data and application development capabilities, with the ability to create and execute a clear enterprise strategic vision for target state architecture that supports all PGIM affiliates and functions.

Extensive experience in planning, building, and delivering large scale, transformational technology infrastructure and cloud initiatives in Azure and AWS, with direct accountabilities for architecture.

Deep knowledge of business processes and business and technical capabilities, preferably in financial services and asset management industry.

Knowledge of agile methodology and practices.

Strong knowledge of EA and Solution Architecture frameworks and best practices with awareness of current trends for new architectural patterns and concepts.

Objective, diplomatic team player with excellent collaboration, networking, and influencing skills, as well as credibility and commitment to building trust and developing relationships.

Ability to clearly communicate the vision and target state and influence the adoption of enterprise architecture principles, patterns, reference architecture, and standards to demonstrate progress on technology maturity.

Accustomed to managing multiple efforts across different areas.

Experience managing projects, budgets, and schedules to successful completion.

Demonstrated success in achieving specific, measurable, and concrete objectives aligned with business goals by tracking and reporting outcomes over a specified time.

Entrepreneurial spirit, persistence, and resilience; comfort with and ability to thrive on and drive change while navigating ambiguity.

Continuous learning mindset with demonstrated aptitude for understanding strategic investments and new technologies.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $220,000 to $255,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
