About the role:
We are looking for a senior memory system architect. Successful candidates need to have in-depth experience with DRAM protocols (DDR5, HBM), memory controller architecture, high performance memory scheduling algorithms and trade-offs, memory power management, memory security and RAS capabilities and architectures. Additionally, we are looking for experience in addressing memory performance issues in silicon and pre-silicon.
What you'll achieve:You will be a technical leader, at the heart of the architecture teams working closely with hardware SoC and IP development teams. Your role will be to define memory architecture at the system level on down and then provide expert guidance to implementation, pre- and post- Silicon verification teams. This may include:
Define memory system IP architecture and microarchitecture to meet customer requirements, maximize performance, and optimize power efficiency
Work with design team to define microarchitecture of memory system IPs and surrounding logic
Work with memory and platform performance team to identify and analyze performance issues and resolve bottlenecks using appropriate analysis techniques (analytical, modeling, etc).
Drive decisions using a data-driven approach
Drive industry technology directions by working with external DRAM and memory technology suppliers to develop future specifications and standards
Contribute to the memory system simulation and performance model
Provide guidance on workload choices for analysis within the performance model
Assist in responding to high-priority issues or customer questions where your expertise can help
About you:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 12 years of experience; or MS degree and 8 years of experience; or PhD degree and 5 years of experience
Experience in memory controller scheduling and power management algorithms and their performance and power impact for cloud server use cases and workloads
Extensive understanding of memory security and RAS features and architecture
In-depth expertise with memory system performance analysis, bottleneck analysis, etc.
Proficient in scripting languages
In-depth knowledge of DRAM technologies and protocols, DIMM solutions (RDIMM, MRDIMM, 3DS) is a plus
Great communication skills, comfortable with reaching out and asking questions. This is the most important qualification!
Technical curiosity, and ability to learn and grow. Nobody around you will have all the answers!

The full base pay range for this role is between $163,100 and $271,900, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $171,800 and $286,300.
