We are looking for a Director, Value Stream Management - EVA Space Operations Contract (ESOC) and Universal Waste Management System (UWMS) leader to join the Space Systems organization within Mission Systems. The ESOC and UWMS organization is chartered to focus on performing to our commitments to enable NASA mission success on the International Space Station (ISS) and the Artemis missions. In this role, you will lead a team of Value Stream Leaders (VSLs, AKA Program Managers) to lead the ESOC program and the UWMS program. ESOC is the Operations contract for the Extra Vehicular Mobility Unit (EMU), which still enables astronauts to explore and operate the Space Station in Low Earth Orbit today. UWMS is the Space Toilet for the ISS and Orion. The Director, Value Stream Management – ESOC & UWMS develops milestones, spearheads solutions for program problems, oversees the Profit & Loss and manages multiple important business to business/customer relationships and leads contract negotiations.

What You Will Do:

Lead a team of VSLs (Program Managers) and cross functional teams that engage with NASA and related customers to deliver on our existing commitments and secure follow-on work to enable NASA mission success.

Profit and loss responsibility for both internally and externally funded efforts.

Manage the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule and performance of large and/or complex programs.

Travel requirements up to 25%.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience

or

an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience

or

in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Experience leading people.

Experience working with NASA or U.S. Department of Defense customers.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience briefing senior leadership (SBU and BU President Level) and external customers.

Experience leading cross functional teams to meet customer commitments and delight our customers.

Experience in Program Management with Profit and Loss responsibility.

Experience providing positive interface with NASA customers.

Experience with Space Based technologies such as those on the ISS or Artemis missions.

Experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
