WSP USA is seeking a highly motivated
Senior Program Manager
to support our growing
Construction Management
practice throughout
Chicago, Illinois . This is a high impact role, and the successful candidate will be involved in projects, have significant input and influence in shaping the future of a growing organization of the Construction Services business in Chicago, and to meet our clients' needs and solve their challenges. The preferred location for this position is in our Chicago Office.
In this role, you will partner with other Construction Management Illinois leaders and other stakeholders to champion the delivery of world-class construction services with an initial focus on Construction Engineering and Inspection (CE&I) services to consistently meet or exceed client expectations. The Senior Program Manager is accountable for providing leadership and skills necessary to drive growth and operating performance for the practice.
Your Impact
Manage day-to-day subordinate consultant staff of operations of the program.
Responsible for managing a large program that involves separate leaders for program administration, programming, professional services, material coordination, contract administration, and IT support.
Communicate and make recommendations to the client and have clients' best interests on all projects.
Evaluate data outputs on project results in order to improve efficiency for the client.
Manage project budgets, change orders, supplements, invoicing, and staffing for projects assigned.
Apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices and independently make decisions on significant engineering problems.
Deliver projects using the appropriate systems for quality, safety, schedule, and cost management.
Provide regular status reports to Construction Services Department Manager.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with concentration in Engineering or Construction Management.
Licensed professional engineer in Illinois or have the ability to receive a license within six (6) months.
Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in construction management civil engineering projects.
Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of engineering design and construction.
Proven experience to manage the work of a large group of subordinate consultant personnel.
Must be knowledgeable of various client construction specifications and contract management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and materials.
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Proven success as a people manager and project manager.
Demonstrated experience in leading/developing oral presentations.
Flexibility to evaluate, accept, and adopt new technologies.
Organized, self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) or Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) experience.
eBuilder or CDOT CMQA experience.
