POSITION SUMMARY
To provide leadership and direction for the Aquatics, Health/Wellness, Teens, and Sports programs. It is the responsibility of the Senior Program Director to grow enrollment, exceed budget expectations, meet fundraising expectations and continually improve the quality of these programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program and membership growth for the YMCA.
Executes strategies to ensure that members and program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
Develops, monitors, and exceeds department budgets related to the position.
Hires, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Facilitates communication and provides leadership. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Evaluates and provides ongoing training of staff.
Provides leadership and support to the Annual Campaign and volunteer committees/boards as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.
Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies which support branch and association goals and strategies.
Establishes plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives and the leadership team.
Provides leadership and support in the coordination of special events and activities.
Provides data and reports as required for assigned programs.
Drives all YMCA vehicles when needed including 14 passenger School Bus.
Provides overall branch leadership in the absence of the Branch Executive Director.
All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent.
Three or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Support marketing efforts and have a community presence in service area.
Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, program development and fundraising.
Preferred knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations.
Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification preferred.
CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
