Job Overview:A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a highly experienced Trademark Attorney to join its legal team. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of legal experience in trademark law, focusing on trademark prosecution, agreements, clearance, and enforcement. This role requires a candidate with strong academic credentials, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to provide strategic trademark advice and counseling. Experience working in a law firm setting for at least four years is essential.Duties and Responsibilities:

Handle all U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution aspects, including preparing and filing trademark applications.Respond to office actions issued by the USPTO and manage foreign office actions with local counsel.Conduct comprehensive trademark clearance searches and provide detailed risk assessments.Manage trademark portfolios for clients, including overseeing U.S. and international filings.Advise clients on trademark strategy, branding, and intellectual property protection.Represent clients in U.S. and foreign opposition and cancellation proceedings.Draft and negotiate trademark-related agreements, including licensing, coexistence, and settlement agreements.Enforce clients' trademark rights through cease-and-desist letters, negotiations, and legal action.Provide general trademark counseling to clients across various industries, ensuring compliance with U.S. and international trademark law.Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel in coordinating global trademark strategies.Requirements:

A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in trademark law, including trademark prosecution, enforcement, and strategic counseling.Experience handling U.S. and foreign trademark filings, oppositions, and cancellations.At least 4 years of experience working at a law firm.Ability to respond effectively to USPTO office actions and manage clearance searches.Experience drafting and negotiating trademark-related agreements such as licensing and settlement documents.Education and Certifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Strong academic credentials are required.Licensed to practice law in California (or eligibility for admission to the California Bar).Skills and Competencies:

Superior written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex trademark issues to clients.Strong research and analytical skills, particularly in trademark law and intellectual property.Proven ability to manage multiple trademark portfolios and cases simultaneously.Strong negotiation skills and experience drafting legal documents related to trademarks.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
