Job Description:

You will be responsible for the thorough testing, verification, and optimization of building systems, ensuring they function as designed. Key Responsibilities:
System Testing: Conduct thorough testing and verification of various building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation, to ensure they meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.
Documentation: Prepare comprehensive commissioning documentation, reports, and test procedures to track system performance, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and owners to align commissioning activities with project goals and timelines.
Problem Solving: Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, developing innovative solutions to address challenges and ensure optimal functionality.
Energy Efficiency: Identify opportunities for energy savings and sustainability enhancements in building operations, making recommendations for improvements.
Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, presenting commissioning findings and providing training to end-users to ensure a smooth transition to the operational phase.
Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest standards of quality and precision throughout the commissioning process, ensuring that all systems meet or exceed industry standards.

Controls Engineer or Technician
Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing Engineer or Technician
Electrician or Electrical Testing/Acceptance Technician
HVAC Startup Technician

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Related industry and/or commissioning experience required
Basic knowledge of the design, construction, and commissioning processes
Awareness of local energy codes and LEED Cx requirements
Field experience strongly preferred
Complex project experience (Mission Critical, Healthcare, Laboratory, Etc.) preferred
Basic skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
Experience with Bluebeam Software
Must have good communication and writing skills.
Highly organized
As a work from home position, must be Self-Motivated
Time Management skills
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Review of design documents (OPR, BOD, Plans and Specifications) for key information
Review of submittals and shop drawings for key information
Assist in developing Commissioning Plans
Assist in developing project-specific test scripts including Pre-Functional Checklists (PFC), Functional Performance Tests (FPT), and Integrated Systems Tests (IST).
Onsite execution/witness of Pre-Functional Checklists
Assist with execution of test protocols
Attend meetings led by senior staff, capturing and delivering meeting minutes to the project team.
Backchecking Commissioning Issues in the field
Basic Technical knowledge of system design, installation, operation, and maintenance in the following areas:
Mechanical Systems (HVAC)
Electrical Systems
Plumbing System
Controls and Automation
Building Automation Systems (BAS, BMS, Etc.)
Building Envelope
Retro-Commissioning (RCx) and Energy Auditing Experience is a plus
Full-time work
Constant communication
Local travel and some long-distance travel to jobsites. Vehicle, driver’s license, and insurance required.
Occasional work on a Saturday, typically scheduled a few weeks in advance
Climbing up and down ladders
Maintaining balance in all situations
Stand and walk for long periods of time on jobsites
Conducting yourself safely on jobsites and complying with the Contractors’ job-specific safety requirements
Utilizing Facility Grid software for commissioning projects (training will be provided)
