Job Description:

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia. PVCC is known for its exceptional faculty and staff, quality programs, and success of its students. The Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Workforce Development/Academic Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of academic and workforce development functions. This role encompasses supporting academic operations, providing administrative assistance, and coordinating various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Operations (Approximately 40%):

Assist the vice president with academic and operational oversight.

Collaborate with academic deans and the vice president in managing faculty qualification processes.

Provide assistance to ensure course offerings align with institutional goals.

Coordinate scheduling data with the vice president and academic deans.

Liaise with the Director of Dual Enrollment and Early College programs.

Support the vice president in reviewing academic programs.

Provide oversight of the PVCC academic calendar and catalog.

Provide logistical support for academic committees.

Administrative Support (Approximately 30%):

Manage calendars and coordinate meetings for the vice president.

Draft and proofread correspondence and reports.

Manage incoming communications.

Organize and maintain files and records.

Assist with budget monitoring and compliance.

Coordination and Project Management (Approximately 30%):

Coordinate and track special projects.

Facilitate communication between departments.

Coordinate division-specific events.

Prepare updates and reports on project status.

Assist with grant proposals and accreditation reports.

Special Assignments:

May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
