Note:
This position requires a current valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle. This position is responsible for managing the maintenance, custodial and groundskeeping functions of all major building complexes within the First Judicial Circuit, including the facilities of the rural courts on Oahu, and performs other related duties as required. Education Requirement:
Graduation from high school. Excess experience of the type described below or work experience requiring the ability to read and comprehend and apply written directions or a high degree of verbal skill may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Specialized Experience Requirement:
Six (6) years of work experience which demonstrated knowledge in one or a combination of the following types of work: Facilities management. Skilled trades or crafts experience in construction or maintenance projects of buildings which required the preparation and/or interpretation of plans, specifications and drawings, and the proper observance of safety measures, practices, methods, techniques, materials, costs, equipment and tools used in construction projects. Procurement of a variety of supplies and equipment which included cost comparisons. Developing the capital improvement plans and executing the capital improvement budget for an agency. Education Substitution for Experience:
Successfully completed study at an accredited college or university in mechanical, electrical or civil engineering or architecture may be substituted for Specialized Experience on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four (4) years. Supervisory Experience:
One (1) year of supervisory experience, in an official capacity, which included: Planning and directing the work of others; Assigning and reviewing their work; Advising them on difficult problem areas; Timing and scheduling their work; Training and developing new employees. Such experience must have been in the fields described in the Specialized Experience. Selective Certification Requirement - Driver's License:
