We are seeking an experienced

Corporate Communications Manager

who will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering an integrated corporate communication strategy aligned to Element Biosciences' mission, strategy and key business priorities. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about partnering with an Executive team, Marketing, People Team and other functional teams to inform, engage, and inspire employees, while also advancing the company's external reputation through proactive public and media relations efforts. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in Life Sciences. This role will be a San Diego based role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

With internal and external marketing teams, identify PR and communication opportunities and coordinate execution. Develop an external editorial calendar.

Draft and distribute engaging communications materials, including press releases and media pitches, briefing notes, speeches, presentations, FAQs, social media posts, and web copy.

Support company leadership with external communications, including developing thought leadership content.

Coordinate and support PR agency activities for announcements and campaigns.

Develop and execute a proactive public and media relations strategy to strengthen the Element brand and reputation and raise awareness of the company, our mission and our innovation pipeline.

Contribute to the global communications team's editorial calendar; flag any proactive media opportunities overall; align for consistency and messaging alignment.

Build an internal editorial calendar for internal communications, including employee stories, feature stories and internal weekly newsletter.

Act as communications business partner, optimizing communications to ensure transparency and open dialogue and supporting hiring goals.

Work with Talent team on communications initiatives to position Element as an employer of choice.

Craft internal communications materials, including employee emails, Element intranet and Microsoft Teams communications channels.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communication, English or a related discipline.

5+ years of experience in communications (internal and/or external), preferably in-house at a global public company; Life Sciences experience is a plus.

Demonstrated leadership presence and experience advising and fostering trusted relationships with C-level leaders.

Demonstrated track record of success in media relations, crisis communications and reputation management.

Excellent written and verbal communicator, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy, who can tailor messages to ensure relevance to a diverse set of internal and external audiences.

Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency.

Strategic thinker who is passionate about developing and executing integrated communication plans that drive business objectives.

Ability to see the bigger picture and "connect dots" across the organization to maximize impact.

Cross-functional experience with the ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders at all levels.

A track record of prioritizing and executing competing priorities effectively.

Strong global mindset and experience working effectively in multinational organizations.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 20 pounds.

San Diego.

Travel:

Up to 10% internationally or as needed.

Job Type:

Full-time/Exempt.

Base Compensation Pay Range:

$119,000 - $156,000.

In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.

Please note: Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
