Job Summary:
Provides leadership and strategic direction for philanthropy and across multiple foundations within the St. Louis region. Develops short- and long-term philanthropy goals and plans ensuring alignment with broader organization priorities. Utilizes metrics and organization vision to lead and direct strategic philanthropy practice and standards. Provides broad leadership at the regional level to help grow department and enhance all aspects of the system philanthropy goals. Note that this is NOT a remote opportunity. This role will require relocation to St. Louis, MO upon acceptance of the role.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Primary Responsibilities
Leads the mission, philosophy, values and vision of the organization. Articulates the organization mission concisely that can speak to all constituents, patients, physicians, payers, and employees at all levels.
Serves as a member of the leadership team providing strategic direction on philanthropy related issues. Works effectively as a team member in a dynamic executive environment in a matrix organization and promotes teamwork within and across the organization by maintaining positive relationships and utilizing effective problem-solving skills.
Develops strong partnerships across the region. Engages staff and develops collaborative relationships. Serves as a resource to individual market foundations, while also providing broader leadership input to system level philanthropy team members.
Creates a culture of giving and philanthropy within the organization by developing strong relationships within and across the organization and with board of directors. Develops a network of significant individual contributors who will grow and enhance the foundation across all markets.
Cultivates corporate partners and major gift prospects through the entire fundraising cycle, from identification of prospects, cultivation, and engaging in making the solicitation of gifts.
Assesses the strength and viability of regional foundations and develops long range plans to improve upon the organizations.
Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, policies and regulations.
Oversees human resource management for the assigned area creating a culture of employee engagement. Ensures HR policies are administered consistently across function. Organizes philanthropy areas through appropriate structure and delegation of functions. Identifies succession planning needs within the philanthropy area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
Masters degree or Bachelor's degree with equivalent combination of experience
Experience
Ten years' experience, with five years' in direct people management/leadership
