Overview:Responsible to the Distribution Supervisor for receiving, inspecting, verifying, controlling, storing and accurately issuing materials, supplies, and equipment to all departments within Beebe Medical Center and related Family Health Centers.This position will require access to legend and non-legend drugs and will require ethical standards related to medication storage and security. The security and storage requirements must be maintained at all times to prevent diversion from the organization as well as ensuring product integrity.Responsibilities:Audits exchange carts, par level stock areas and stock on hand; removes outdated sterile or other unused supplies on a routine basis and returns them to distribution or stores for disposition. Responsible for maintaining the supply support system in patient care areas. Inventories and restocks all carts and par level storage areas efficiently, accurately and punctually. Maintains adequate stock of supplies in Distribution to resupply exchange carts and par level stocking areas. Obtains supplies as needed through stores. Accurately prepares and processes inventory documentation, i.e., stock issue requisitions, return to stock credits. Pulls orders and delivers to requesting department. Uses good storage and distribution techniques. Ensures proper location of supplies in all supply/cart areas. Properly documents, identifies and rotates stock. Removes outdated materials from supply areas; notifies supervisor for disposition. Recommends changes in stock levels to the supervisor. Accurately applies charge codes to supplies and prepares documents for charging supplies to patient accounts. Assures that all chargeable supplies have stickers. Sets traction frames, issues patient care equipment and assures the equipment is documented and tracked to the using location. Receives incoming materials, supplies and equipment, verifies accuracy of shipment and accepts or rejects shipment. Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies the supervisor and/or purchasing staff. Holds all damaged goods, shipping cartons, crates, etc., until any claims can be resolved. Puts away stock and delivers orders to requesting departments Accurately processes all necessary documentation (packing lists, bills of lading, receiving reports, purchase orders, etc.) so that payments can be authorized. Identifies and appropriately codes stores inventory. Delivers to the appropriate department in a timely manner. Stock shelves in main stores. Ships out packages using Federal Express, UPS, and other sources. Maintains shipping records. Follows up to make sure the packages are picked up by the shipping vendor. Performs other duties as required. As part of the support services in the hospital, team members may be asked to help with duties that are not part of the normal task or daily routine.
Qualifications:One year experience working with patient care supplies and equipment is preferred. An understanding of the use/purpose of Medical/Surgical supplies and equipment helpful; experience with storage and distribution of supplies desirable. On the job training is provided. Ability to work independently in a quick and professional manner.
