DescriptionPosition: Multimedia Specialist, DOTPosition Type: Temporary Short-Term ContractWork Location: 100% in-office - Washington, DCClearance Level: Public Trust/OHSTravel: 25%Summary:The Multimedia Specialist role encompasses various experience demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge as a live television broadcast camera operator, audio operator, live and robotic camera switching and master control quality level of signal processing and switching, and studio lighting. Experience demonstrating a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices of Television News Broadcast Electronic News Gathering (ENG) as a camera operator, audio operator, and lighting technician on press events and interviews. Experience demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge as a specialized digital broadcast equipment operator of Adobe Premier and/or Final Cut Pro system.Essential Functions:Supports all production aspects of agency features on a variety of modal and programmatic themes including educational, corporate, federal and broadcast media presentations, as well as satellite broadcasts, press conferences, web casting, video teleconferencing, training programs, Event documentation, Graphic design, printing and Power Point instructional materials.Determine formats, approaches, content, levels, and mediums necessary to meet production objectives effectively.Construct and position properties, sets, lighting equipment, and other equipment.Control audio equipment to regulate the volume and sound quality during radio and television broadcasts.Discuss production requirements with clients.Coordinates the scheduling, planning, organizing and preparation for video setups for a variety of staged and live studio productions.Uses a high level of imagination and ingenuity to ensure that abstract, technical or sensitive programs are effectively communicated to different audience segments.Television productions range from news features, public service announcements, to training and informational video content on virtually any topic.Edits and selects raw footage and stock footage, where appropriate; creates titles, artwork and other graphics; orders still photo, animation and special effects; assembles rough cuts and synchronizes soundtracks for screening; and prepares final sequences of action, music, narration, dialogue and sound effects to develop the finished product.Incumbent receives direct and overall policy and program guidance from the Support Services Supervisor and/or Senior Multimedia Specialist. Incumbent is expected to use his/her own initiative and judgment and to recognize and identify problems or an unusual nature and recommend solutions. Assigned work may be reviewed upon completion by Senior Multimedia Specialist, other Team members or the Support Services Supervisor to assure adherence to overall policy and technical accuracy.Responsible for the performance of the work in support of the client.The Lead Multi-Media Specialist is responsible for the overall management of contractor employees and attends scheduled operations related meetings, as requested by the COR or others.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
