Reporting to the Vice President of Major Gifts and Multiyear Giving, the Senior Director of Tocqueville Society and Leadership Giving (SDTSLG) serves as a key member of the United Way of Greater Atlantas Office of Development. Following internal policies and best practices relating to giving society management and fundraising, the SDTSLG will work collaboratively with multiple Development Teams, and other UWGA staff. The SDTSLG will provide direction, planning and implementation of strategies to drive overall year-over-year net growth in aggregate revenue and membership for the Tocqueville Society, and will coordinate with the VP of Major Gifts, and Major Gifts Team to maintain and build superior donor relationships and meet measurable goals. Additionally, the SDLGTS will build and manage a fluid portfolio of 100-150 prospects responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewardship of donor prospects of $10,000 - $50,000.00 and above within a dynamic, fast-paced fundraising environment.

The position will work closely with colleagues across departments, volunteers, boards, community leaders and a variety of others, and must be collaborative, professional, innovative, responsible and more while maintaining a strong work ethic and attention to detail. It is also essential that the SDTSLG be well versed in giving society management, fundraising strategy, the art and science of individual fundraising, and have significant experience in closing major gifts, collaborating with others to close gifts, and managing individual portfolios. The SDTSLG will spend approximately 50% of their time each month working with the Tocqueville Society to implement and guide strategy for the retention, growth and engagement of all major gift donors, and 50% of their time each month working with their portfolio to secure personal visits with prospects and will report on at least 8 substantive visits per month.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe SDTSLG will be responsible for the following goals, duties, and responsibilities:

Develop and execute the Tocqueville Societys growth plan, segmented for Ivan Allen Circle, at a net growth rate in revenue raised and membership consistent with the annual plan.

Develop a strategy, plan, and direct all society fundraising, recruitment, and retention activities.

Responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the strategic plan by working with the President, SVP of Revenue, VP of Major Gifts, and appropriate team members and volunteers.

Direct and execute all events and activities that support Tocqueville Society membership recruitment, stewardship and engagement.

Establish and manage a quality control system for all Tocqueville related marketing materials and communications.

Work with the Major Gift Team to develop individual strategic cultivation plans for key donors and donor prospects.

Ensure all Tocqueville Society data is current, appropriate to goals and outcomes.

Secure 100 approved face-to-face visits per year, no fewer than 8 per month.

Qualifying 30 new portfolio level prospects.

Submitting a minimum of 15 major gift solicitations per year at a level required by this position.

Securing annual dollar goal as set by Development leadership.

Making all contacts necessary via phone, email, other, to achieve the above-mentioned results.

Documenting all data necessary to track said goals through the timely submission of activity within the UWGA CRM, as required by internal policies.

Develop, implement, and manage a productive, fluid portfolio of 75-100 prospects through best practices.

Exceed all yearly revenue and metric-driven goals.

Promote collaboration, recognizing our shared goals, and regularly collaborate with colleagues within the Office of Development and other departments as needed.

Ensure the proper stewardship of individuals.

Increase awareness and knowledge among prospects, donors and other key stakeholders about the Child Well-Being Movement.

Develop a solid and detailed working knowledge of United Ways funding priorities and products

Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Development

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree required.

Experience with annual giving societies.

Five to seven years of fundraising experience, including the demonstrated ability to identify, cultivate, and close major gifts.

Advanced interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Organization skills for a fast-paced work environment.

Microsoft Office knowledge including, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

Experience with CRM/database management.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Degree

AFP CFRE certification

Experience implementing and managing capital campaigns.

Demonstrated fundraising innovation, especially as it relates to portfolio management.

Successful solicitation of major gifts from individuals.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic CRM, Raisers Edge, or a similar CRM software
