As a Senior Manager of Software Development in the Data-Plane platform organization, you will build and lead a critical data-plane component used across OCI data-planes. The charter of the organization is to develop prescriptive guidelines, standard platform services, libraries and tools to enable more efficient, reliable, and converged data-planes across OCI. You will build a team that brings together low-level systems knowledge and data plane expertise and work with our most senior technical leaders to define, design, and develop solutions to some of the most complex problems.

These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives such as building highly performance primitives. We are hoping to enhance engineering efficiency by concentrating expertise by building low-level systems with high performance that can be adopted by our core cloud services across OCI. We are looking for a M3 manager that has data plane systems design and distributed systems knowledge.

Responsibilities:

Lead and coach engineering teams to deliver successful products and services.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation within the organization.

Launch new cloud services and establish operational excellence.

Set the technical direction for a foundational data-plane component used across OCI.

Coach, mentor, and develop the best talent.

Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for the team.

Define new KPIs to inform decision making and prioritization.

Set goals and expectations for performance and work with employees to establish specific, measurable goals and commitments.

Basic Qualifications:

3+ years of management experience in enterprise software.

7+ years of experience with applications development, with 2+ years in large scale distributed applications/web services/systems design.

Proficient at programming in C/C++ (preferred), Rust (preferred), and Java.

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related engineering fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

7+ years of management experience.

Prior development experience within Cloud Infrastructure or low-level systems engineering.

Masters/PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields.
